The West Orange County Women’s Conference started out a few years ago as a Cypress-only event, the brainchild of Cypress City Council Member and former Mayor, Mariellen Yarc. Then, it became a tri-city program. Now, it is hosted by the City of Cypress, City of La Palma, City of Los Alamitos, and City of Seal Beach, making it a West Orange County event. As is tradition, each city awarded a Woman of the Year during a ceremony held in the Grand Ballroom.

Roller coaster enthusiasts, get ready. A new coaster called HangTime is coming to Knott’s Berry Farm in the summer of 2018. The state of the art coaster promises to thrill riders like no other ride in the Western United States. 

Cypress and Los Alamitos were present at the Annual Legislative Mixer that brought together elected officials and citizens from the OC community to discuss topics such as the 405 freeway expansion, water recycling, the Joint Forces Training Base, homelessness, and social justice. The mixer took place on Aug. 25 at the Cypress Senior Center. 

For 32 years, Dr. Ashok Mehta has been a prominent dentist in Los Alamitos. Over the past few years his sons, Dr. Birju Mehta and Dr. Bijal Mehta have joined the four-location practice.

The original Los Alamitos office opened in 1985, then moved in 1991 to its current location at the corner of Los Alamitos Blvd. and Florista. The other offices are in Brea, Tustin and Pico Rivera.
