On April 12, the City held a community meeting to discuss a proposed change to the Cypress School District specific plan to construct 45 new two-story homes on the current Cypress School District Maintenance Facility site at 5081 Orange Ave., which is between the main District Office and the Latter Day Saints Church.

William Lyons Homes held recent sneak peek meetings at the Cypress Community Center. There were about 300 people at each session. The developer indicated over 3,000 people have signed up on their interest list. For those of you that didn’t attend, enclosed are some of the interesting documents in the packet that was given out:

The signature collection process is over and the petitions were delivered to the Cypress City Clerk Jan. 25. The City Clerk will now turn them over to the Orange County Registrar of Voters for verification. They have 30 days to complete the verification process. A total of 2,615 signatures of Cypress residents that are registered voters are needed to qualify the initiative for the June primary ballot. A total of 3,685 signatures were submitted.
